Protein is the building block of building muscle and losing fat. Yet most people don’t realize just how much protein they need on a daily basis or think it’s too time-consuming or unhealthy making all those protein shakes. I couldn’t agree more, which is why I cut down on expensive protein powder with additives and questionable ingredients and started making my own. You don’t need fancy ingredients like Flax Seed or Chia to get low-fat high-quality protein that tastes good. Here’s just one version of a protein shake that I make. Combine 1 Cup Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt with 1/2 cup of Organic Non-Fat Milk, 1 Banana and 3 Strawberries for flavor. Throw that in the blender for 15 seconds with some ice. The result? Delicious Homemade Protein Smoothie containing a whopping 32g of Protein with no fat and no processed sugar! You can try different combinations of protein sources i.e. peanut butter but I try to keep it low calorie most of the time as well.
