We all love sweet sugary drinks even though we know they’re not the best for us. Maybe it’s something in our DNA that’s responsible for the cravings of an instant sugar rush. And maybe that was important for us back when we didn’t know when our next meal would come and we threw stones at our one shadows. Since then we’ve evolved so our tastes should too. Try this homemade mango iced tea recipe flavored naturally with a hint of sweetness and you’ll never go back to artificial soda or juice again! P.S. works equally well with peaches and oranges instead of strawberries.
1 Mango, Cubed
4 Cups Freshly Brewed Black Tea
8 Whole Strawberries, Mashed
First we boil the mango cubes for 10 minutes in two cups of water in order to extract the natural flavor. Next we add the strawberries and the tea while simmering the mixture for 15 minutes. After everything is dissolved it’s time to strain our tea through a colander, or try cheese cloth if you don’t want any pulp at all. Finally we pour into a pitcher of ice and let it cool down in the fridge. After that all that’s left to do is pour yourself a nice cold glass and sit out in the sun and enjoy your life!
